After a string of four wins, the Garey Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Don Lugo 26-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Garey has scored all season.
Don Lugo was led to victory by Sienna Robles and Makena Encarnacion. Robles scored four points, while Encarnacion dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Encarnacion hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.
Garey's loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4. As for Don Lugo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garey will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Big Bear at 11:00 a.m. on December 16th. Big Bear has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29. As for Don Lugo, they will head out on the road to face off against Workman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
