Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Faribault should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Winona on the road at 7:00 PM. With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win.
Last week, Faribault couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were given a punishing 0-41 loss at the hands of Owatonna. Faribault were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-27.
Meanwhile, Winona had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They got past John Marshall with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 20-14.
Winona's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Faribault's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Winona's success rolls on or if Faribault are able to steal their positive momentum.
