Newport Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the NOVA Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Monday, Newport Christian lost to Lancaster Baptist on the road by a decisive 46-28 margin.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but NOVA Academy had to settle for a 41-39 loss against Samueli Academy on Friday. NOVA Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Valerie Lopez put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 21 points. She scored a full 53.8% of NOVA Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Torres, who scored 10 points.
The losses dropped Newport Christian to 0-3 and Lancaster Baptist to 2-1.
