Softball Recap: Arapahoe's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherokee Trail, Arapahoe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Mullen Mustangs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Macie Miller and Regan McGinnis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Miller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McGinnis pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miller has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Miller went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, while McGinnis went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Delaney Cooper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in August. Loralei McNulty was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Arapahoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Arapahoe moved to 9-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mullen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will head out to face off against Pine Creek at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season. As for Mullen, they will take on Grandview at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
