Lewis-Palmer extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-9. They lost 21-10 to the Air Academy Kadets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered against the Kadets since August 25, 2023.
Joella Streeter led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Mady Folph was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
As for Air Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
On Air Academy's side, Bailey Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off 13 hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Williams a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Air Academy got a massive performance out of Keira Finkle, who went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Finkle has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rideau Dravida, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Coming up, Lewis-Palmer will square off against Pueblo Centennial at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Air Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Berthoud at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
