Baseball Recap: Ripon Takes a Loss

Ripon started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Argonaut. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Logan Spear made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Ripon: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-9 otherwise.

Ripon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Argonaut, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ripon will welcome Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Argonaut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Venture Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Argonaut's pitchers better be ready for this one: Venture Academy has averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
