The Carlmont Scots will square off against the Terra Nova Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Terra Nova took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Carlmont, who comes in off a win.
Terra Nova will be up against a hot Carlmont team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Scots never let King's Academy get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Scots this season.
The result came thanks to Jonathan Fong's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carlmont is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Carlmont let Pano Koutoulas and Aidan O'Driscoll run wild. Koutoulas got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while O'Driscoll went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave O'Driscoll a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Goetz, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Terra Nova's offense. They lost 6-0 to Menlo School on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Tigers have let down their home crowd.
Terra Nova saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Wilson's first of the season.
Carlmont's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Terra Nova, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carlmont has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Terra Nova struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Carlmont's way against Terra Nova in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Carlmont made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Scots repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
