Biggs had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They put the hurt on the Weed Cougars with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cashten Acosta was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Dennis Dewhurst was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Biggs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Biggs' win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Weed, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Coming up, Biggs will challenge Williams at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.8 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Weed, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulelake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
