Orcutt Academy has been on the road for eight straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Arroyo Grande Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Orcutt Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-27 loss at the hands of St. Joseph. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orcutt Academy has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaylene Roybal, who scored five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Johnson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Orcutt Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. Joseph racked up 15 assists.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph. Arroyo Grande has not had much luck with St. Joseph recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Orcutt Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Arroyo Grande, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.
Everything came up roses for Orcutt Academy against Arroyo Grande in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 67-30 victory. Does Orcutt Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arroyo Grande turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
