Augusta Prep is 0-6 against Lincoln County since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. Augusta Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Augusta Prep will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Wardlaw Academy on Monday. The Cavaliers walked away with a 13-10 victory over the Patriots. The win was some much needed relief for the Cavaliers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dakota Dunn made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Augusta Prep let Ayden Payne and Scott Williams run wild. Payne went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Williams went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Payne is becoming a predictor of Augusta Prep's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Parker Hollimon was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Augusta Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Lake Oconee Academy hit Lincoln County with a seven-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils lost 14-4 to the Titans.
Augusta Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Lincoln County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
