Softball Recap: University Picks Up 15th Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, University rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past The Classical Academy Titans 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 21 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jasi Cole made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September.

In other batting news, Sydney Goetzel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kamzee Kern was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The win (which was University's 15th in a row) raised their record to 25-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for The Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 win against Wellington on the 25th. The Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
