The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Temecula Valley in their matchups with Great Oak: they've now lost five in a row.
Temecula Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karlee Wellonen, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wellonen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Pollack, who scored nine points.
Great Oak got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bri Thomas out in front who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Kayla Martin, who scored 12 points.
Temecula Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Great Oak, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temecula Valley will take on Murrieta Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murrieta Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 255 points over their last four matches. As for Great Oak, they will be playing at home against Murrieta Mesa at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murrieta Mesa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
