The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Lehighton Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tamaqua focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Tamaqua didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pottsville, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tamaqua.
Tamaqua's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauren Ligenza, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ligenza has scored at least 25% of Tamaqua's points. Kendle Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lehighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 43-31 to Blue Mountain.
Tamaqua's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lehighton, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Tamaqua lost to Lehighton at home by a decisive 41-27 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Tamaqua avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
