The Brea Olinda Wildcats lost against the Orange Lutheran Lancers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Brea Olinda falling 49-30. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Orange Lutheran is ranked 46th).
Brea Olinda lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Liz Han, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Sanborn, who scored seven points.
Brea Olinda has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Orange Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Brea Olinda and Esperanza will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Esperanza has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matches. As for Orange Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Mark Keppel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mark Keppel will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
