Shadow Hills is 9-1 against the Rattlers since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Shadow Hills Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rancho Mirage Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shadow Hills has seven straight victories, the Rattlers have 20 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Shadow Hills gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-17 victory over Palm Desert at home. Given Shadow Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Aztecs are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Hills' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Skylah Archer, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, and Victoria Hyatt, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Archer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Mia Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Rancho Mirage was the victim of a rough 39-18 defeat at the hands of the Blackhawks on Tuesday.
Shadow Hills pushed their record up to 23-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Rancho Mirage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.
Everything came up roses for Shadow Hills against the Rattlers in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 86-5 victory. Does Shadow Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rattlers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
