Rock Creek Academy is 1-9 against the Eagles since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rock Creek Academy Lions will face off against the Lanesville Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, everything went Rock Creek Academy's way against the Rebels as the Lions made off with a 72-51 victory.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lanesville had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-26 victory over the Warriors on the road. Lanesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Kerr, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Kerr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hadley Crosier, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Rock Creek Academy now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Lanesville, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.
Rock Creek Academy came up short against the Eagles when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 61-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crosier, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Now that Rock Creek Academy knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
