The Justin-Siena Braves will take on the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Thursday, Justin-Siena got the win against Pinole Valley by a conclusive 9-1. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Justin-Siena got a great performance from Griffin Messenger as he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Messenger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tommy Malloy was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Sangiacomo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Justin-Siena was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent entered their tilt with Salesian College Preparatory on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Pride 11-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 28, 2018, but that streak is no more.
Madden Mendez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mendez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Logan Lissner looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bo Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Jaden Dichoco was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Justin-Siena's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
