Holdenville had lost five straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They lost  13-0 to the McLoud Redskins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-0  last Saturday.
As for McLoud, the  victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight  runs or more this season.
For McLoud's part,  Miley Hicklin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). Hicklin was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Avery Soward was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Makenzie Lane, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holdenville will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morris at 4:30  p.m.  on September 9. As for McLoud, they will venture away from home to  take on North Rock Creek  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
