Softball Recap: Delta Has No Trouble Against Weld Central

Delta barely beat Weld Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 18-12 win on Friday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Olivia Hines was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Naranjo, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They got seven more hits than Weld Central's also-impressive total of 13.

The win got Delta back to even at 1-1. As for Weld Central, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Delta will challenge University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weld Central, they will square off against La Junta at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
