Design Tech and Pinewood are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Dragons will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Design Tech has three straight victories, Pinewood has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Design Tech made easy work of North Valley Baptist and carried off a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Logan Garrett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Design Tech is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise. Garrett was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Isaac Gradek was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Design Tech: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Maddox Hom was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Design Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .419 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pinewood lost 12-3 to Harker on Monday.
Pinewood's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Design Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Design Tech took their win against Pinewood in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
