The McGuffey Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season. They blew past Jeannette 57-26 on the road. The victory was just business as usual for McGuffey, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.
Taylor Schumacher was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Libby Mallah, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
McGuffey pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for Jeannette, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
McGuffey and Avella will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Avella focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. Jeannette will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mapletown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
