The Mount Anthony Patriots will face off against the Mount Greylock Regional Mounties at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Mount Anthony's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mount Greylock Regional has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
On Wednesday, Mount Anthony got the win against Brattleboro by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Patriots have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jacoby Dicranian and Talin Bartholdi did most of the damage at the plate: Dicranian went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Bartholdi went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Mount Greylock Regional didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin County Tech on Wednesday and fell 6-5.
Asher Barrale was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Emery Rotter was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Mount Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Mount Greylock Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Anthony has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Greylock Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Mount Anthony's way against Mount Greylock Regional in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Mount Anthony made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Mounties have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
