With a playoff win on the line, Minarets rose to the challenge  on Friday. They were the clear victors by  a  12-2 margin over the Farmersville Aztecs. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered  a  7-6  defeat the last time these two teams met.

 Jaydon VonWagner was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in two of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. Minarets is undefeated when  VonWagner posts two or  more  stolen bases, but 8-18 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gavin Mitchell, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was  Ethan Akins, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
The  victory made it two in a row for Minarets and  bumps their season record up to 11-18. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4  runs in those games. As for Farmersville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12-2.
 Looking ahead, Minarets will take on Legacy Christian Academy at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last five matchups. Farmersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
