The Patterson Tigers will be playing at home against the St. Francis Troubadours at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Patterson comes in on four and St. Francis on three.
Patterson can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They breezed by Golden Valley at home to the tune of 53-13. Given Patterson's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Golden Valley is ranked 1064th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Patterson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Mason, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Mason is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Siena Musson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for St. Francis at home against Pleasant Grove on Friday as the team secured a 64-27 victory. With St. Francis ahead 41-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Bria McGahan was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Francis' points. Sydney Teoh was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Patterson pushed their record up to 26-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for St. Francis, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Patterson have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like St. Francis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
