The Lindhurst Blazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 23rd straight defeat. They fell just short of Wheatland by a score of 34-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lindhurst in their matchups with Wheatland: they've now lost seven in a row.
Lindhurst's loss came despite strong showings from Natali Hernandez and Hannah Garcia. Hernandez scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Garcia scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Kimiko Cervantes, who scored 13 points.
Lindhurst dropped their record down to 1-23 with that loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wheatland, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
Lindhurst will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Center at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Lindhurst focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Wheatland, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Marysville at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Marysville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Wheatland surely won't give up without a fight.
