Make it six blowout wins for the South Tahoe Vikings this season. Everything went their way against Truckee on Wednesday as South Tahoe made off with a 60-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory South Tahoe has posted since December 27, 2023.
It was another big night for Campbell Mathews, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Ava Wolfe was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
South Tahoe has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Truckee, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will take on Hug at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hug will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 90th in Nevada, while South Tahoe is ranked 34th in California). As for Truckee, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wooster at 5:00 p.m. Wooster is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
