The Smethport Hubbers will be playing at home against the Austin Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Austin took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Smethport, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Smethport blew past the Tigers, posting a 44-14 win on the road. The victory was just what Smethport needed coming off of a 48-16 loss in their prior matchup.
Smethport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elizabeth Hungiville led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. Hungiville is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Payton Neff, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Austin's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 49-37 to Otto-Eldred.
Smethport's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Austin, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
