Softball Recap: Russellville Extends Winning Streak to Three

Russellville entered their tilt with Dixon on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Karsyn Duncan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audra Whittle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Karleigh Grayson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Russellville's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Dixon, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Russellville will welcome Eugene at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
