Clairemont fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Calexico on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-4. The Chieftains' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Clairemont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Garcia, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Calexico, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3-1.

Clairemont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Canyon Crest Academy on the 7th. As for Calexico, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Mater Dei Catholic on the 4th.
