Baseball Game Preview: Patriot Warriors vs. Rubidoux Falcons

For the second straight game, Patriot will face off against Rubidoux. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Patriot's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Rubidoux has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Patriot will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Rubidoux on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Falcons. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Javier Tinoco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Patriot is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Tinoco was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dustin Thayer, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Patriot: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Paul Lopez-Ortiz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Patriot kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Rubidoux's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Patriot, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
