Baseball Recap: River Islands Takes a Loss

River Islands couldn't beat Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Riptide fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 8-7. The Riptide have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Israel Fuentes and Noah Uribe stepped up to the plate in a big way. Fuentes went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Uribe went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Fuentes is becoming a predictor of River Islands' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

River Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

While River Islands had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
