After five games on the road, Imperial is heading back home. They will take on the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Davan Heraz and Nayeli Cardona were among the main playmakers for Imperial as the former scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks and the latter dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Cardona has scored at least a third of Imperial's points. Clare Davila was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Palo Verde Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Central 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Palo Verde Valley has posted yet this season.
Imperial has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for Palo Verde Valley, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Imperial against Palo Verde Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 61-20 victory. With Imperial ahead 40-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
