Krish Dilidili made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of San Jose's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Dilidili was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Roman Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five stolen bases, and five RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because San Jose is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Cypress Funes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
San Jose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant didn't have quite enough to beat Overfelt on Monday and fell 6-5.
Julian Saldana was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Arroyo, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Mt. Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. San Jose has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .496. However, it's not like Mt. Pleasant struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
San Jose might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Mt. Pleasant in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
