The Sonoma Academy Coyotes will venture away from home to challenge the Technology Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sonoma Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Sonoma Academy came out on top against Willits on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Coyotes took their game against the Wolverines 8-4. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Victor Jennings was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Jennings was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Proctor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Sonoma Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Charlie Mutz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Technology was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 5-1 to Tomales.
Leo McDonell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Sonoma Academy pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Technology, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Technology's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sonoma Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Technology, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain Sonoma Academy's hitters?
Everything went Sonoma Academy's way against Technology in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Sonoma Academy made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
