While it was all tied up 31-31 at halftime, the East Wilkes Cardinals were not quite the Wilkes Central Eagles's equal in the second half on Friday. East Wilkes fell 77-66 to Wilkes Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (64), East Wilkes still had to take the loss.
Jermaine Ferguson was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 23 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Owens, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
East Wilkes are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8. As for Wilkes Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Wilkes will take on Starmount at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilkes Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Forbush at 8:30 p.m. Forbush is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
