The South Hills Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Rowland Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, everything went South Hills' way against Covina as South Hills made off with a 54-32 victory. Given South Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Covina is ranked 1066th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Rowland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 84-40 win over Nogales. With that victory, Rowland brought their scoring average up to 51.9 points per game.
Isabella Tran continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 38 points along with three steals. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Adrienne Bausley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six steals.
South Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Rowland's record is now 6-8.
South Hills couldn't quite finish off Rowland in their previous matchup back in January and fell 59-57. Can South Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
