Irwin County came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Brooks County Trojans as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 15 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Irwin County pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Brooks County, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Looking ahead, Irwin County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Worth County at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 2.3, the Rams 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Brooks County, they will square off against Cairo at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
