The Thunder Ridge Longhorns lost against the Northern Valley Huskies back in January of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Thunder Ridge was beaten by Northern Valley 62-29. Thunder Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
Drew Schemper was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds for Northern Valley. The game was Schemper's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kenton Thalheim, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Thunder Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Northern Valley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Thunder Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Osborne on Tuesday. Osborne presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Thunder Ridge in Kansas (Osborne is ranked 98th, while Thunder Ridge is ranked 273rd). Northern Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Arapahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
