The Big Bear Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by Riverside Prep on the road and fell 64-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Big Bear has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Big Bear saw an underclassman step up: Colby Allen scored six points.
It was another big night for Mya Graham, who scored 27 points along with eight steals and five assists for Riverside Prep. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Graham has scored at least a third of Riverside Prep's points. Logann Ravare was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight steals.
Big Bear's loss was their 11th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-16. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.0 points per game. As for Riverside Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.
Big Bear will head out on the road to challenge Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Riverside Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Silver Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Silver Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
