Gunn has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gunn scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Harbor with a sharp 44-22 win. That 44-22 margin sets a new team best for Gunn this season.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep waltzed into their contest Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 48-42 victory over Hillsdale.
Sacred Heart Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mayowa Otudeko-Carroll led the charge by scoring nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Goldstein, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Gunn's record now sits at 1-5. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
Gunn came up short against Sacred Heart Prep when the teams last played last Saturday, falling 48-36. Can Gunn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
