The Campbell Hall Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Grant Lancers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Campbell Hall came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Valley Christian, falling 15-7.
Nasir Akil was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nico Yu, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Grant suffered their closest loss since March 28, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of Sun Valley Magnet by a score of 11-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Lancers' highest-scoring matchup to date.
Vijay Garg led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with six stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Padilla, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
Grant is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Campbell Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Campbell Hall has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Campbell Hall's way against Grant when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Campbell Hall made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
