The First Academy had won two straight games and Demetrice McCray did his part to make it three on Friday. The Royals came out on top against the Venice Indians by a score of 21-14 with plenty of help from McCray, who picked up 140 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 87 yards on only nine carries. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.

Venice's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyree Mannings, who picked up 93 receiving yards and one score, and Darryon Jones, who rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown.

The First Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Venice, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

The First Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-14 victory against Gadsden County on the 26th. As for Venice, they have also already played their next matchup, a 51-0 win against Lehigh on the 26th.
