The Coast Union Broncos lost against the Valley Christian Academy Lions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Coast Union was beaten by Valley Christian Academy 56-8. Coast Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-4.
Valley Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katelyn Mikkelson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Mason, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven steals.
Coast Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Valley Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Coast Union won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Maricopa at 3:30 p.m. on January 17th. Maricopa is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Valley Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shandon at 5:00 p.m. Shandon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
