While losing is never fun, Albert Gallatin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Southmoreland is ranked 155th).
Albert Gallatin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Blake White, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals, and Mykel Belt who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. White is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Shymere Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Leading Southmoreland to victory were Ty Keffer and Noah Felentzer. Keffer scored 24 points, while Felentzer scored 27 points. Keffer has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elliot Premus, who scored 14 points.
Albert Gallatin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Southmoreland, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albert Gallatin will take on Elizabeth Forward at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elizabeth Forward is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Southmoreland, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Uniontown at 7:30 p.m. Uniontown will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
