A well-balanced attack led the Del Mar Dons over the Independence 76ers in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Del Mar blew Independence out of the water with a 60-19 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Del Mar had established a 22 point advantage.
Leading Del Mar to victory were Moana Tulua and Zoey Hinkle. Tulua scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Hinkle almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Hinkle hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Arseama Kibrom, who almost dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and nine assists.
Del Mar is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Independence, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
Del Mar will head out on the road to challenge Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Live Oak is on a four-game streak of home wins, Del Mar a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Independence will take on Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence is facing Hill at the right time seeing as Hill is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
