The Leuzinger Olympians will head out on the road to square off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Leuzinger stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Beverly Hills 75-7 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Leuzinger has posted yet this season.
Dresha Moore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Watts, who scored 15 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Bonita Vista can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game last Thursday. They took down Francis Parker 55-39.
It was another big night for Mahliya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Shania White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Leuzinger pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50.67 points. As for Bonita Vista, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Monday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Leuzinger have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 37.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Bonita Vista struggles in that department as they've only made 32.9% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Leuzinger came up short against Bonita Vista when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 80-67. Can Leuzinger avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
