Georgetown Day has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and Holton-Arms will face off at 4:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Georgetown Day faced the in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Georgetown Day simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the 61-27 at home.
Georgetown Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nevaeh Roberson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Roberson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Madisyn Moore was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, everything went Holton-Arms' way against the Snails on Tuesday as the made off with a 50-27 victory. Given Holton-Arms' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Maryland, while the Snails are ranked 205th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Georgetown Day is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Holton-Arms, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Georgetown Day against the when the teams last played on Monday as the squad secured a 59-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Georgetown Day since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
