Softball Recap: Cass Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

While Cass's win against Platteview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats skirted past the Trojans 11-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the match before.

Brooke Sorensen was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sailor Manske, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory snapped Cass' losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record. As for Platteview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cass will welcome Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Platteview, they will be playing at home against Ralston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
