The Grove City Christian Eagles were the 74-42 winner over the Fairbanks Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Grove City Christian took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairbanks on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grove City Christian has scored all season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Langsdorf, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Ransom, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Grove City Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Grove City Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Fairbanks, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grove City Christian will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Miller at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Fairbanks, they will challenge Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenon is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
