The Tulelake Honkers lost against the Etna Lions back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Tulelake was the victim of a rough 54-32 loss at the hands of Etna. Tulelake has not had much luck with Etna recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Tulelake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McKenna Fine, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Perez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Tulelake's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Etna, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.
Tulelake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Butte Valley at 4:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Etna, they will be playing at home against Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
